Ray Liotta was pretty much universally loved thanks to iconic roles in ‘Goodfellas’, ‘Field Of Dreams’, ‘Cop Land’ and ‘Blow’ –  as well as a few Heineken adverts – and as such the world was saddened by the news of his untimely death a couple of weeks ago.

Fortunately for us though, there’s still a few unreleased Liotta projects that we can witness in the upcoming months, the first of which is an Apple TV+ show called ‘Black Bird’. The six part thriller is based on a true story and introduces us Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton)  – the son of Liotta’s character big Jim Keene – who is offered the chance to have his ten year prison sentence squashed if he enters a maximum security prison and befriends a psychopathic serial killer.

The first trailer has just been released which you can see below, along with the official synopsis:

Inspired by actual events, when high school football hero and decorated policeman’s son Jimmy Keene (Egerton) is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison, he is given the choice of a lifetime — enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall (Hauser), or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole.

Well that looks pretty hectic for Taron Egerton doesn’t it? Although it doesn’t really seem like Ray Liotta is going to be featuring too heavily in it sadly as it’s mainly him going undercover in a prison, trying not get killed and looking really worried all the time.

I don’t have AppleTV+ so I won’t be tuning in sadly, it looks as though it might be worth some of your time though. Check it out.

For more of the same, check out the cast for the new Scorsese movie. Gonna be epic.
