The Haunting Of Hill House was one of the most successful new shows on Netflix last year, but despite its popularity questions remained on whether it would be returning for a new series simply because of the way things wrapped up at the end of it. No spoilers.

However, fans of the show will probably be pleased that the show will be returning in some form, as Netflix have announced that it will be coming back in 2020 as an anthology series. That means that it’ll follow the format of the other major horror TV show out there American Horror Story with a new storyline and characters every season, although it’s uncertain at this point if the cast members will be returning as these different characters like that show.

The official announcement was made via Twitter, with Netflix VP of Original Content saying the following:

Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are masterful at creating authentically frightening stories that leave audiences on the edge of their seats, but unable to look away.

We’re excited to continue our partnership with them on ‘The Haunting’ series and future projects to come.

I mean yeah, you can’t really fault them with that announcement. Flanagan and Macy have completely killed it and probably will continue to do so with whatever they’re working on next. Chalk up another victory to Netflix right there.

For more of the same, check out the trailer to House On Haunted Hill right here. You really should have seen it by now.
