Guy Ritchie has been slogging away in Hollywood for over twenty years now and recently returned to his East London crime caper roots with ‘The Gentleman’ and it looks like the follow up ‘Operation: Fortune’ is going to be of a similar ilk.

Sure, it’s more of an international jet setting kind of movie, but it involves an awkward crew of people coming together to pull off some weird mission that’s bound to go wrong about a million times which was pretty much Ritchie’s modus operandi at one point in his career. Once again he’s managed to attract a star studded cast with ‘Operation Fortune’ starring Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza (arguably one of the hottest rising stars in Hollywood after ‘The White Lotus’), Hugh Grant, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone and Josh Hartnett, and you can bet that there are probably a couple of major cameos in it as well too.

Check out the trailer below and see what you think:

Super spy Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) must track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant).

Reluctantly teamed with some of the world’s best operatives (Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone), Fortune and his crew recruit Hollywood’s biggest movie star Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett) to help them on their globe-trotting undercover mission to save the world.

Wow that really is hitting all the marks isn’t it? Really crappy/boring jokes, a classic song playing in the background, a car chase and some average action scenes. Pretty much guarantees it’s going to be a classic – sort of like a cross between James Bond, a Guy Ritchie gangster movie and the ‘Knives Out’ films’ by the looks of things. Will check it out.

For more of the same, check out Guy Ritchie’s next movie, something about a WWII Black Ops team. Sounds like something else he could do very well.
