Generation Z Are Trying To Cancel Eminem; Millennial Reacts With Terrible Rap About Generation Z

The beef between millennials and Generation  Z is still fascinating to me as I can’t really believe that a bunch of people in their mid 30s honestly care what a load of teenagers think about them, but Gen Z may have bitten off more than they can chew with their latest move as they’ve attempted to cancel millennial icon Eminem for some of his more problematic lyrics.

The hashtag #CancelEminem was trending on TikTok yesterday after Gen Z heard the lyrics to his song ‘Love The Way You Lie’ with Rihanna and were suitably outraged because he says ‘If she ever tries to f**king leave again, I’mma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire,’ which seems remarkably tame when back in the day I’m pretty sure he was rapping about cutting his ex girlfriend’s head off? I’m no Eminem stan by any means (see what I did there? OMG is that where the term ‘stan’ comes from?) but I’m 100% sure that is probably one of his more PC lyrics and the dumbness of this whole situation is amplified massively by Gen Z finding that phrase the most offensive of Eminem’s out there.

@snmmerrto everyone that is canceling him I literally love u

♬ love the way you lie – sam

Anyway, millennials decided to clap back the only way they knew how: by using their own social media platform of choice Twitter to diss Generation Z about how stupid they are:

Great. Feel like this was another useful addition in the culture war between old and young people going on here that is completely necessary and relevant to the narrative in this country/the world at the moment. Right on.

Whilst I’m clearly being sarcastic there, I should be grateful that it has at least blessed us with this absolute comedy gold from this one Eminem fan who has decided to rap in his style over ‘Forgot About Dre’, but has ‘cleverly’ changed the lyrics to be about Gen Z instead. You’ll enjoy this, I promise:

Wow. What is it about Eminem fans? They just don’t let up do they?

Anyway, I predict that Eminem is probably going to get away with having lyrics about murdering people he doesn’t like and burning down their houses etc because he’s Eminem and that’s just what he does. Can’t come at the king like that.

The battle between Gen Z and millennials will inevitable rage on though, with no sign of a finish. So it goes.

For more of the same, check out when he almost got cancelled for some lyrics about the Manchester bombing on his new record last year. Just isn’t gonna happen to the guy I don’t think.
