We probably all know the feeling of missing our loved one for whatever reason – maybe you’re out of town on work or something – and just wanting to cuddle them and hold their hand. Now there’s a solution for that problem and it’s called a Frebble.

Frebble’s website states that it’s ‘a mediated social touch product, designed around the shape of the hand, providing family members and friends at a distance with a new common tactile experience’. The idea is that you and your significant other talk to each other online whilst both holding your Frebbles. When you squeeze your Frebble, the sensation will be transmitted to your partner’s Frebble which simulates the two of you holding hands.

Well, kind of, except you’re actually holding a weird colourful plastic shape. Still, I suppose it’s better than nothing and coupled with our guide for sustaining a long distance relationship, you might be able to make it work.

On the flip side of this, there will probably be a whole online industry based around lonely men getting their hands squeezed by a Frebble whore before long if the product takes off.
