Yeah, Science! Watch A Dead Pig Decompose Over 7 Days In The Ocean

Dead pigs are used as models for human decomposition so that we can understand what happens to a body in the ocean.

Had your lunch yet? Great – check this out.

From the YouTube description:

Dead pigs are used as models for human decomposition so that we can understand what happens to a body in the ocean and use this to interpret decompositional patterns and rates and as well as the marks left by scavengers, in human death investigations.

The cage is used to keep out sharks but as you can see within minutes loads of sea lice are all over the pig’s carcass, eating it from the inside out. In a matter of days, all that’s left is the skeleton.

If you enjoyed that, you’ll love the video of a dolphin shagging a headless fish corpse.
