China’s New Glass Suspension Bridge Looks Absolutely Horrifying

Glass floors are literally some of the most terrifying things I’ve ever seen. I just can’t get over walking on glass because I’m so scared of heights and they scare the absolute shit out of me. So there’s absolutely no way that I’ll be going across this huge glass suspension bridge – called the Brave Man’s Bridge – that just opened up in China. It’s opened up in Hunan Province and is 600 foot high and 900 feet long, spanning over some kind of forest. It basically looks shit scary, but one Chinese worker has reassured people that there’s no way the glass on it would ever crack:

The steel frame used to support and encase the glass bridge is also very strong and densely built, so even if a glass is broken, travelers won’t fall through.

The glass is three-quarters of an inch thick and is treated to be extremely resistant to both bending and shattering.

The glass used on the bridge is more than 25 times stronger than ordinary glass and it’s also encapsulated by a steel frame to ensure maximum sturdiness.

Well yeah, that’s all well and good and I doubt it is going to smash, but just walking that high up looking down would completely shit me up. Take a look at people going across it in the video below and see how scared they are:

I mean seriously, that looks fucking dangerous and it’s not even that safely enclosed on the sides. After the glass broke on the ‘unbreakable glass floor’ on a building in Chicago too I’m even less likely to try it any time soon. Sorry guys.
