Former UFC star Cain Velasquez has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in California’s Bay Area, where he was targeting a man who is suspected of sexually abusing his daughter. 43-year-old Harry Eugene Goularte had been arrested at a nursery on charges of lewd acts with a child, but was let out on bail. The victim reported the abuse which allegedly occurred in the nursery’s bathroom, where Goularte insists he was just helping the child ‘put their pants on correctly’.

Well, Cain Velasquez tracked him down and shot at him while he was in a car with his dad. Unfortunately he managed to hit Goularte’s father instead, who suffered ‘non-life threatening injuries’, according to NBC. Velasquez is now facing 15 years to life for first degree attempted murder. Which might’ve been worth it if he’d actually hit his intended target and killed the child-abusing scumbag.

So what happens from here? You have to wonder whether the details of the incident mean anything in a court of law, considering Cain was gunning for the person who allegedly molested his daughter. Obviously you can’t go around murdering alleged paedophiles or even proven paedophiles, but I think any person can relate to the urge to hurt a person who has touched a young family member. Just an awful situation he finds himself in. Best wishes to Cain’s family and let’s hope justice is done one way or another.
