The British man busted in a Disneyland ‘wedding’ with a 9-year-old girl has been identified this week as a known paedophile wanted by UK authorities, reports the NY Post.

Jacky Jahj, 39, from Feltham, west London, is currently “wanted in his country for failing to comply with the obligations of the British sex offenders register,” having previously been convicted of child sex offences in the UK.

He was jailed in 2016 for four years after being found guilty on four counts of sexual activity with two 15-year-olds.

Actor and filmmaker Jahj was allegedly the “groom” in the mock wedding which took place at dawn in front of the Sleeping Beauty castle last Saturday. His 9-year-old Ukrainian bride was wearing a wedding dress and had four-inch heels taped to her feet.

Jahj privately hired the area for the ceremony and recruited 300 extras from an agency at a total cost of $130,000 (£111,000). Lord knows where he got that money from or who was financing the whole thing. Thankfully, Disney staff quickly shut things down and called police after realising the ‘bride’ was a “scared and confused” 9-year-old child.

Jahj insisted after his arrest that he was just filming a video for social media. The girl’s 41-year-old mum, who was in attendance, was also arrested, as well as two Latvian men, aged 55 and 24.

The hired guests were allegedly told they were being paid to take part in a high-end wedding rehearsal.

One silver lining is that following a medical examination on the little girl, no evidence of physical harm was found.

The prosecutor’s office confirmed: “The investigations, including the medical examination of the minor, a Ukrainian national, showed that she had not been subjected to any violence or coercive acts.”

Well, that’s a relief.

Disneyland Paris acknowledged they accepted payment for the event but “immediately cancelled” it when the “identification of significant irregularities” came to light. Still, not a great look that it was allowed to get to the stage where a known sex offender was about to marry a 9-year-old child in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle. Fair play to them for noticing in the end, though. It would have been a PR disaster of epic proportions if they hadn’t.

Jahj, who remains in custody, has been charged with fraud, breach of trust, money laundering and identity theft.

Meanwhile, over in the UK, A Met spokesperson said: “A 39-year-old man is wanted by the Met Police for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a breach of a Sex Offenders’ Register notification requirement.

“We are aware the man has been arrested in France for other matters and officers are in contact with the French authorities.”

As for the girl’s mother, what the hell was she thinking? Whether she knew Jahj was a convicted paedophile or not, it’s just an outrageous situation to put your child in, no matter how much Jahj was (assumedly) paying her.

I’m sure more details around the case will be forthcoming, but for now, it’s a relief that this child is safe. Let’s hope every adult responsible gets the book thrown at them.
