Becky Hill Hits Out At Jack Whitehall On New Album After He Branded Her “Wetherspoons Whitney” At BRIT Awards

Becky HIll has written a diss track about Jack Whitehall on her new album Rebecca, clearly still holding a grudge over the comedian calling her Wetherspoons Whitney at the BRIT Awards last year.

Jack Whitehall was doing what he does best and roasting the stars in attendance as he hosted proceedings at the event, but Becky, 32, found his comment ‘classist’ and has now torn him a new one on her track Daddy’s Range Rover.

The lyrics from the track feature lines like:

“Just ’cause your daddy worked in showbiz, got you a job with his old boss.

I bet you didn’t even notice.

The opportunities you got. You judge me on my accent before I even start, but you know nothing about me.

What can I do?”

Well, that’s him told isn’t it? How will he ever recover? Whitney introduced the song at an intimate gig this weekend, saying: “This one’s for you, Jack.”

Previously, Becky, who is from Bewdley, Worcestershire, had written on Instagram:

“Imagine being called a ‘Wetherspoons Whitney’ by some privately educated nepo baby who has a TV show with daddy the showbiz agent on national TV. My parents worked so hard to provide a middle class life for me, even tho they couldn’t afford it, no one gave me a leg up, I wasn’t near London so I couldn’t go to the BRIT School. So if you associate a Midlands accent with a Wetherspoons that says more about the silver spoon in your mouth jolly ol’ boy.”

Brutal stuff. At the awards show on March 1 2025, Jack Whitehall had said:

‘It’s an eclectic mix of nominees this year, from the soaring vocals of the Wetherspoons Whitney Becky Hill, to the atmospheric house of top jaw with decks, Fred Again.’

In fairness to Whitehall, he did say she has ‘soaring vocals’, and you would think there’s no greater compliment than being compared to Whitney Houston, but ‘Wetherspoons Whitney’? Apparently Becky Hill did not see the funny side.

Whitehall, 37, who attended £60k-a-year Marlborough College and is the son of top talent agent Michael Whitehall, has hosted the BRITs six times.

Will be pretty awkward when these two run into each other again, perhaps at the next BRITs. Will Whitehall apologise or double down and take the p1ss out of her some more? Maybe he’ll call her Lidl Britney? Come on Becky, he’s a comedian! Don’t take it so seriously.
