Dustin Poirier Tries To Fight Police Before Being Arrested For Being Drunk In Public

Wild bodycam footage of UFC legend Dustin Poirier’s arrest has been released, and it’s fair to say the guy is completely off his head.

Poirier, 37, threatens to fight the cop and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen a police officer try so hard to avoid physical confrontation before (understandably so):

Fortunately, Poirier calmed down a bit once backup arrived and allowed himself to be arrested, but man, this could have ended so much worse. Well done to the cop for deescalating – he did Poirier (and himself) a huge favour with that one.

Poirier was booked into the Clayton County Jail and released on bail a few hours later. He then took to Instagram to address the situation and admit he needs professional help:

Classy statement. Indeed, it has to be tough for a lot of these fighters to find an outlet after they hang up theie gloves, so at least Poirier is self-aware enough to understand his situation and get the help he needs.

Here’s hoping it’s another fight he can win. Maybe he could even return to the Octagon and give us a little more? That would be cool.
