Aussie Far-Right Politician Turns Out To Be Gay With Muslim Boyfriend Who He Helped Get Citizenship
Australians elected a politician from the far-right One Nation party — and he’s turned out to be gay with a Muslim immigrant boyfriend.
After recently being elected as an MP for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party in South Australia, Jason Virgo, 35, revealed that he is in a relationship with a Muslim man from Indonesia, helped him obtain citizenship, and says most of his friends are migrants.
Virgo revealed that his partner, Rhisang Alfarid, is the “love of my life”, and clarified that he is an Australian citizen.

Virgo says he chose to address his sexuality to get ahead of “whispers” and prevent political opponents from trying to weaponise his private life.
So how the hell does a progressive, secretly gay man campaign for a far-right party without getting found out? And become an MP, no less?
Well, unlike the wider One Nation party, Virgo never actually espoused racist or anti-gay rhetoric. However, he did go pretty hard on border security and immigration.
He also rejects identity politics and the contemporary LGBTQ+ activist movement, describing himself as someone who “does not wave the flag in the air as I walk down the street”.

So it remains to be seen now whether this causes any friction in his party or with voters. After all, Virgo’s South Australian One Nation party leader is Cory Bernardi, a staunch social conservative who has linked same-sex marriage to bestiality.
I mean, being gay is one thing. But being gay with a Muslim partner who you secured citizenship for? Bet the constituents are going to love that. They must be so outrageously confused!
Although, who knows? Maybe he’ll keep them on side and turn the One Nation party into the progressive and accepting party there is. He already managed to win them over once.
