Buffy Star Nicholas Brendon Accused Of Grooming Teenage Girl Years Before His Death

It’s always a little questionable when a famous person gets accused of something awful after they’ve died, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take it seriously. And let’s be honest – Buffy star Nicholas Brendon didn’t exactly have the cleanest reputation when he was alive anyway.

A month after Brendon died in his sleep aged 54 of “natural causes”, a woman identified as Jane Doe 1 has come forward with allegations that the actor groomed her when she was 17 years old.

The woman, now 30, detailed her experiences in an exclusive interview with Page Six.

She claims she met the then-42-year-old actor at Awesome Con in April 2013. She gave him her number hoping for acting advice, but he then started sending her “flirty” messages.

Brendon allegedly pressured her for nude photos, telling her, “It’s OK, you’re the age of consent” after checking South Carolina laws.

When she expressed discomfort, he apparently said: “I’m famous. I’m giving you attention. You should be doing what I ask you to do”.

He allegedly “ghosted” her within six months, leaving her “absolutely devastated”.

Nicholas Brendon’s very long rap sheet already includes stalking and harassment, “inappropriate sexual comments” to fans at meet-and-greets, allegations of domestic violence against an ex-girlfriend, and being banned from several conventions due to accusations of sexual harassment toward female attendees.

So, a posthumous allegation of ‘grooming’ isn’t actually difficult to believe. Not that anything can be done about it, but fair play to Jane Doe 1 for getting her story out.

There’s also a Nicholas Brendon Awareness Facebook group, which has nearly 9,000 members sharing stories of alleged abuse. If you’ve got 9,000 people calling you a perv, there’s probably some truth to it.
