US Marine Vet Appears To Get His Arm Broken As He’s Yanked Out Of US Capitol For Protesting The War

Wild scenes during a hearing at the US Capitol Building earlier as a US Marine Corps veteran began protesting against the war in Iran, and was instantly set upon by police and Republican Senator Tim Sheehy.

As Marine veteran Brian McGinnis (also a Green Party candidate for Senate in North Carolina) was forcibly removed from the room, he appeared to get his arm wedged between the door and its frame and snapped it in half.

[Viewer discretion advised – you will actually hear his arm snap]:

Oof – that sound is going to stick with me all day. Brutal stuff. Quite impressive that it took so many men to remove him from the room, but absolutely sucks that he ended up snapping his arm in half in the process [I know the Tweet says his hand broke but it’s very clearly his whole arm and has since been confirmed by other accounts). Still, the guy was so pumped full of adrenaline that he barely flinched… although I’m sure he felt it later.

Republican Senator Tim Sheehy of Montana, a former Navy SEAL, is seen assisting police in the removal. While Sheehy stated he was attempting to “de-escalate the situation” and assist officers with an “unhinged protestor,” witnesses and critics allege his physical involvement contributed to the injury.

Was it necessary to use that much force? After all, all McGinnis was doing was exercising his First Amendment right to protest the war. Depending on how things turn out, this clip would very well live in infamy in documentaries many years down the line. Crazy times.
