‘Sinners’ Star Jayme Lawson Defends John Davidson: “That’s Exploitation”

It looks as though at least one ‘Sinners’ cast member wants to come to the defence of John Davidson – calling out the BAFTAs and BBC for “exploiting” the Tourette’s activist and failing to “protect” the audience in the process.

Actress Jayme Lawson said the following:

“That man’s disability got exploited that night. And it led to multiple offences. That’s the BAFTAs fault.

“And then the BBC, to air what they air – it’s careless. And we know the BBC knows the take care of what they care about. They censored a bunch of others. They went so far as to make sure other things weren’t topics of conservations. They do not care for our dignity, our humanity.”

Indeed – the BBC censored one BAFTA winner’s ‘Free Palestine’ shout on the night so as not to offend a particular group, so why would they not also censor out John Davidson’s N-word to protect two other groups – Tourette’s suffers and black people?

As Lawson says, they simply don’t care. We could even go further and theorise that they used John Davidson’s involuntary outburst to create division on purpose. Who knows?

At the end of the day, it lies with the BBC and BAFTAs.

Meanwhile, John Davidson has broken his silence on social media.
