Holly Valance Anti-Woke Song Removed From Apple Music After Going #1 In Australia
Neighbours legend Holly Valance has been something of a right-wing poster girl ever since she married billionaire property tycoon Nick Candy, who is one of the richest people in the UK.
Valance, 42, recently teamed up with Australia’s One Nation party leader Pauline Hanson to write a tune for her new satirical film, A Super Progressive Movie, which dropped on Australia Day.
Kiss Kiss (XX) My Arse – a play on her 2002 hit Kiss Kiss – mocks cancel culture, snowflakes and ‘wokeness’, opening with the lyrics proclaiming: ‘You will respect my pronouns.’

Other lyrics include: ‘Not all ladies have ovaries, some have a penis / They say that I’m a he but I’m a she / Cos I gotta V and not a D.’
‘We’ve got two dads on every TV ad / No-one wants a hetero cos they’re contraband / I don’t care what people say, I’ll never be a him or them or they’.
‘Fave song – from the river to the sea / No job but I bleed LGBT… Q+, ya bigot / Obese with body positivity (you’re fat)’ and ‘Welcome to the country but it’s not your land (Well who’s is it then?) / It’s your wife’s boyfriend [sic]’.
Inspired stuff, no doubt. The song amazingly managed to hit #1 on the Aussie iTunes Chart and #2 on the Apple Music chart, but was then removed from Apple Music on Thursday – only to be reinstated today (Friday) after a bit of backlash.
Valance has since gone on radio and addressed the song’s brief removal from Apple Music, saying those responsible had “not enough brain cells” and that the controversy only helped promote the track.
It turns out the removal coincided with a public petition urging the original composer of Kiss Kiss (Sezen Aksu) to block the parody for spreading “anti-LGBTQIA+ messaging”. And give up the incoming royalties?! Come on now.
A load of people are still complaining that the track violates anti-hate laws and that iTunes/Apple/etc have an obligation to take it down, but it looks as though the streamers are keeping it up.
