Moby Urges Fans To “Stop Supporting The Scumbag Corporations That Support Trump And ICE”
Moby has put out a video urging fans to “stop supporting the scumbag corporations that support Donald Trump and ICE”, following the recent killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by ICE agents in Minneapolis.
The EDM legend, 60, shared the following video message on his socials:
Moby said: “The question is not whether we should be outraged and horrified at what’s happening in the United States, but rather what are we going to do about it.”
He tells his followers that they should protest as it is a “constitutionally established right” despite “Trump and his administration are trying to take [it] away from us.”
He also advises people to “stop supporting the scumbag corporations who support Trump and ICE” and vote, “not just in the upcoming midterms, although that’s very important, but in all of the special elections that happen throughout the year”.
Moby also asks that people support politicians who are “dedicated to opposing Trump and ICE”, and look after their own wellbeing so that they can “be a strong and healthy activist tomorrow and every day for the rest of your life”.
He concludes: “Be outraged, be horrified, but as Joe Strummer said, anger can be power if you know how to use it.”
Well, fair play to Moby for saying how he feels. He’s always been very politically active so it’s no surprise to see him getting involved here, especially as more and more celebrities seem to be speaking out against ICE in recent weeks.
Unfortunately the list of “scumbag” corporations that support Trump and ICE is quite long, so it would be nice if he also provided a list of companies that people can support without feeling guilty. Although it does seem to only be your local quilt shop at this point.
