Keir Starmer Catching Flak For Welcoming Anti-British ‘Extremist’ Into UK
Keir Starmer has said he is ‘delighted’ that British-Egyptian activist Alaa Abd El-Fattah is back in the UK following his release from an Egyptian prison, which is just a little bit concerning because El-Fattah has previously said a lot of terrible and disturbing things in the public domain.
El-Fattah, 44, spent the last decade in Egyptian prison for “spreading false news” and participating in an “unauthorised protest,” but was welcomed back into the UK by Keir Starmer on Boxing Day:
Some people are rather annoyed by this reception given that El-Fattah has previously called for the random shooting of white people, the killing of Zionists, and the rape of women in UK towns.
Here are some examples from his social media history:

Yikes. Not exactly the kind of guy you want living next door to you, especially if you’re opposed to his political ideas. Whilst it’s true that he – as a British national – was unfairly imprisoned in Egypt for political activism, I’m not sure that means we should brush those Tweets under the carpet now that he’s back in the country.
What I will say in Alaa Abd El-Fattah’s defence is that those Tweets are bloody ancient and that he doesn’t seem to have Tweeted anything on that level since 2011. I mean, he’s been in Egyptian jail for most of the time since then, but still.
Might be a good idea to delete and/or denounce those Tweets and assure that he might’ve gone too far with the extremist rhetoric, unless of course he still feels that way. What’s interesting is that he also rubbished Keir Starmer’s Tweet about him – reposting a comment that criticised the PM for thanking the tyrant who had jailed El-Fattah in the first place.
That’s nothing compared to the flack that Starmer is getting from elsewhere, however:

Quite the dumpster fire and the last thing Keir Starmer and the Labour government want to be dealing with at this moment in time, I’m sure. Was the PM even aware of El-Fattah’s Tweets or what? Surely it’s someone’s job to let him know before he makes a complete plonker of himself.
