One of the men behind the 2016 Paris hotel robbery of Kim Kardashian has blamed his famous victim for the crime, saying she “should be a little less showy.”

Yunis Abbas spent nearly two years in prison for the $10 million heist in which Kardashian was tied up and put in the bathtub of her hotel room by robbers posing as cops.

Yunis told VICE News that he doesn’t feel bad about his part in it all:

“Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don’t care.

They should be a little less showy towards people who can’t afford it. For some people, it’s provocative.”

He said the gang monitored Kim’s movements on social media after seeing her flash her goods (her jewellery, that is) on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Abbas stayed downstairs in the hotel lobby to keep guard while his buddies tied Kim up in the bathtub and made off with $10m worth of jewellery, including the $4 million, 20-carat engagement ring given to her by Kanye West.

“Madame Kardashian’s secretary called for help. But she called 911 in the United States, which scared us, which made them lose a lot of time. And when we got out, there was a bunch of police outside who didn’t know anything about the robbery.”

He did at least acknowledge that Kim must’ve been traumatised by the whole thing:

“You don’t come out of it unscathed. Of course she must have been traumatised.”

Funnily enough, Yunis pled not guilty to the crime, despite giving this interview and having since written a tell-all book about the robbery titled ‘I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian’, which isn’t exactly what happened but OK. 12 men total were charged in connection to the incident, with Yunis released from prison after 2 years for ‘health reasons’.

So yeah, pretty f**cked up comments from this French career criminal, especially given Kim’s claims that she was certain she was about to get raped or killed.

There were plenty of conspiracy theories floating around that the whole thing was set up by Kim (or rather, Kris Jenner) as a publicity stunt, given the lack of CCTV evidence and the fact it occured a week before her new TV series started. Another theory was that it was staged so Kim could disappear and recover from a ‘butt reduction’ in peace. Who even know with this family, eh?
