A Pennsylvania woman has received death threats after publicly sharing a video of herself urinating on an American flag – on July 4th no less.

Emily Lance had her friend film as she urinated on the flag submerged in her bathroom toilet, and now she can’t quite fathom why people are mad at her online.
The video was on YouTube earlier but has been removed for violating YouTube’s rules. I’m sure you can find it if you look hard enough though.
Anyway, here’s the reaction it prompted:
This one’s a bit much:
And here’s Emily baffled as to why she’s received so much negative feedback:
Well, she’s right in a way. The fact that she can take a leak on the American flag and get away with it is exactly what freedom of speech is all about; the right to voice your opinion no matter what it is without the worry that the government will kick your door down and drag you to prison and/or sentence you to death.
At the same time, of course, she can’t complain when the whole of America gets mad at her about it. Freedom of speech works both ways.
