It’s always weird when one of your friends goes out with someone much older than them, but imagine what it would be like when that older person was one of your parents. Don’t think I would be too into that personally.

Unfortunately though, this is the situation that 30 year old Amanda Lehman found herself in when she introduced her 27 year old friend Taylor to her 52 year old father Kern. It wasn’t long before the two of them were dating and they eventually tied the know, meaning that Taylor is now technically Amanda’s stepmom, even though she’s younger than her. Icky.

Nevertheless, it seems like the pair of them are happy and their families are supportive of their relationship. Here’s what Amanda had to say about their relationship:

I thought he was very handsome.

When we first met, I worked with Kern’s daughter, she was my best friend and he was married at the time. I was also in a relationship.

At the beginning, my parents were kind of concerned, my mom was upset that this was my friend’s dad, but they know I’ve always dated older men.

Catherine Zeta Jones is brunette and he has silver hair, like us, but Kern is way better looking than Michael Douglas. People have told us … that we are a very striking couple.

But, we hit it off, we like the same music and are both old souls. I fell in love with him for his personality, it made him so attractive to me. He is fun, outgoing, we both like to party, and he was charming.

Obviously he’s a lot older than me so we met with a trust and will attorney, it’s something not a lot of mid-20s women have to deal with and it’s pretty hard.

But who knows what will happen. Tomorrow is never promised. I could go first tomorrow by a freak accident or anything.

If it makes you happy and you click, it’s nobody’s business but yours and if people want to be judgmental, the hell with them. Leave them in their glass house.

I mean yeah fair enough really, it is a bit unconventional but if they’re happy who gives a damn and who are we to judge right? I do like the way they said that they were both married/iar when they met each other but don’t give any details of just what went down at that point. Think we can all join the dots there, but like I said they actually ended up getting married so you can’t really criticise their happiness as it seems like they’re in it for the right reasons. Respect.
