I’m not really sure who out there thought that they were getting anything other than a defrosted microwave meal when they ordered food from Wetherspoons – it’s literally under a fiver and comes out in under five minutes, what else could it be? – but a chef has been suspended from the company after he revealed their kitchen secrets via his TikTok account.

19 year old J Salsa posted the videos on a TikTok account with no followers, but was racking up millions of views within hours. His most popular video shows him throwing a chicken korma in the microwave and has 1.3 million views.
However, it looks as if his reign of terror is over after pub bosses at the chain were informed of his account. He’s been suspended immediately and will find out if he loses his job at a hearing in the next couple of days.

The meals are usually defrosted a couple of days before then microwaved when a customer orders them.
People were shocked over the videos but I thought it was obvious. The curries are microwaved.
How do you get a curry in five minutes for five pounds? They’re quite nice even if they are microwaved.
I like my job and most of the pubs treated me pretty good.
I enjoyed working there so it’s a shame that I’m most likely not going to be working there.
I feel like I’m excited for what the future has got in store.
Well at least he seems to be taking it well? Given that Wetherspoons have a strict no social media policy and he seems to have embarrassed them quite a bit, it’s pretty much inevitable that he’s going to lose his job. He describes himself as more of a filmmaker though, so hopefully this little project lands him in good stead for the future. Best of luck to him.
As for the videos, again I can’t really believe that anyone would actually be surprised by them considering Wetherspoons cheap reputation and how how budget the place is as a whole. I guess it doesn’t show them in that good a light, but anyone who is having their mind blown by the videos needs to take a look at themselves. It’s obvious.
