I can’t really imagine The Weeknd and Angelina Jolie having a lot in common, but apparently they’ve been spending a lot of time together which has naturally sparked rumours that they are dating.

The truth is a little bit sadder, according to US Magazine. A source told the magazine that Weeknd sees Jolie as “the ultimate muse”, and she inspired much of his new album Dawn FM.

Specifically the song “Here We Go… Again,” is supposed to be about his relationship with Jolie. The lyrics go as follows:

My new girl, she’s a movie star / I loved her right / Make her scream like Neve Campbell/ But I make her laugh / Swear it cures my depressing thoughts / ‘Cause, baby girl, she a movie star / Baby girl, she a movie star / I told myself that I’d never fall / But here we go again.

I know what you’re thinking – wow, amazing lyrics. Such a romantic ode to a beautiful woman. Only a muse like Angelina Jolie could bring such deep, creative lyricism out of a Grammy-winning musician. Unfortunately for Weeknd it sounds like none of that is actually factual, as the source continued:

Angelina and The Weeknd have had a few meetups, but there is nothing romantic going on between them.

Oof – friend-zoned hard right there. In fact it turns out they initially connected because Angelina’s kids are huge fans of The Weeknd. Judging by those lyrics though, it’s clear he’s madly in love with her. I mean I obviously don’t know the guy but listening to his songs he’s clearly a romantic, sensitive and emotional guy, so falling for a legendary babe like Angelina Jolie wouldn’t be the most surprising thing in the world, even if she is 15 years older than him.

Seeing as her kids are such big fans though, must be weird to listen to Weeknd’s new material and realise he’s fantasising about shagging their mum and making her ‘scream like Neve Campbell’. Maybe there is something going on between them and they’ve just managed to keep it schtum so far? In which case I just sounded like the biggest hater ever writing this blog. Oh well, we’ll have to see how it develops.
