Everton secured their Premier League status in dramatic fashion last night after they came from two goals behind against Crystal Palace to win 3-2 and their fans decided to mark the occasion with a pitch invasion.

Whilst most of them were just jumping around celebrating and hugging the Everton players, one idiot decided to go up to Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira and throw the V sign in his face and shout obscenities at him. It kinda looks like Vieira is cool with this at first and just shrugging it off in the clip below, but then he suddenly loses his cool and throws a punch at the fan and kicks him to the ground before being ushered away by other Everton fans.

There’s two clips of this – one from someone in the stand and a POV one from the actual fan himself which is pretty funny:

Lol. When I first saw this I just assumed that the fan must have said something racist for Vieira to snap like that, but he wasn’t really saying anything that bad? Obviously it’s not cool to taunt managers up in their faces like that, but you imagine that people like Patrick Vieira would probably be cool with it at this point in their career. Guess not though.

When asked about the incident, Vieira said the following:

I do not have anything to say about that.

Yeah I bet he doesn’t. Again, it isn’t that cool for the fan to be doing that but as a professional you’ve really gotta keep it together. Can’t see things going too well for Vieira in this situation – probably a big fine and a touchline ban or something. Unlucky.

For more of the same, check out when a Spurs fan got attacked by Chelsea fans during a friendly. Bit of a weird vibe again.
