I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t know that there was such a concept as indoor American football matches, but when they seem to descend into wild brawls like the one you see below maybe it’s a good idea that they don’t seem to be that popular or well known.

The footage comes from a recent game between the Dallas Prime and the West Texas Warbirds over the weekend. The Prime were getting their asses handed to them 50-6 in the 4th quarter when one of them took exception to the scoreline and decided to kick off.
The brawl went on for about ten minutes and saw the coaches and fans get involved, with some of the players heading into the crowd to confront fans and one fan hitting a player in the head with a steel hair in a move straight out of WWE. Take a look at the footage below:

Wow. That really did make a smack like it was someone hitting someone else in the WWE didn’t it?
Not surprised that the other players went into the crowd to confront the dude after that, but kinda surprised that the brawl managed to go on for ten minutes as that’s a long time to be pissed off at someone about the result of a sporting competition. Texas though huh?
Here’s what the Ector County Coliseum director Aaron Martin said in a statement about the fight:
We are shocked and appalled by the incident that occurred at the conclusion of the Warbirds football game Saturday night.
While no arrests were made, all those involved have been identified by law enforcement and the incident is under investigation.
We will be meeting with Warbirds staff and our local sheriff’s office to discuss football operations and security procedures to analyze and assess any changes in protocols or security procedures that may need to be implemented in the future.
Yeah I’m not really sure what protocols or procedures can be changed when the majority of people in attendance at the game and both teams and coaches are fighting each other, but fair play to Aaron for giving it a shot. Must be tough over there.
