You know when you go to a fancy restaurant and they always suggest pairing their main course with a certain wine so that all the flavours will fully compliment each other and you’ll receive the best experience during your meal?

Well, Waitrose are jumping aboard the hype train on this one (although it’s not really a hype train as it’s been going on for years, but maybe they’re bringing it into the mainstream or something) by suggesting that you pair their delicious venison casserole with a lovely can of Dark Fruits Strongbow cider. That is something that’s actually happened, yes.

Not sure if you’re into your pairings, but it’s normally suggested that red meat is coupled up with red wine and you grab some white wine to accompany your fish and I don’t think that anyone has ever suggested teaming up Dark Fruits with anything ever, except maybe a pilled up day at your local rave or festival. As you might expect, people immediately started to question the validity of this combo:

Some people were really tickled by that hey. And you can’t really blame them can you? Who the hell would ever think to pair a can of dark fruits with a bloody venison casserole? The two are pretty much polar opposites in my eyes.

Anyway, I can’t embed the post but the guy who put the picture up on his Facebook account was from Stirling up in Scotland so that might explain why they think it’s a good idea to pair those two particular delicacies together. You know that they’re a bit unhinged up in Scotland right?

For more of the same, check out this Scottish guy who ordered a Domino’s pizza with 65 toppings. Told you they were crazy.
