It’s sadly been a long time since Conor McGregor was actually relevant when it comes to combat sports and now we sadly hear way more about his shenanigans outside the Octagon rather than it.

This is another one of those times, as on Tuesday evening he was arrested over in his native Dublin by the Gardai for dangerous driving after undertaking cars on the motorway in his £170,000 Bentley Continental GT. Of course, there’s a video clip of the incident which you can see below:

That does seem like an insanely minor offence for the police to be pulling the guy over for as he’s barely undertaking the guy and even though it’s illegal, it’s hardly a major crime is it? Sure, he might have been undertaking loads of cars before the clip started filming, but even so it seems a bit excessive and stinks of some jobsworth cop trying to make a name for himself by pulling over Conor McGregor. Hope it worked out at the station for them.

McGregor himself is claiming that he was in the auxiliary lane of the motorway and heading to get off at the next exit which is also fairly believable. Weirdly though he’s already deleted the tweet:

So what does that mean?

Conor had his car seized – although it was later returned to him – and he’ll have to attend Blanchardstown District Court next month where he could face a €5000 fine or six months in prison, or possibly both. I can’t really see him going to prison so I assume he’ll throw some money at the problem and it will go away, then he’ll proceed to do some more stupid stuff before heading back into the Octagon and getting battered again.

What a life he now lives, although I feel like this time he did get slightly screwed over. Doesn’t excuse half the stuff he gets up to these days though.

For more of the same, check out his ridiculous £2.2 million watch. Why does anyone need that?
