UK rapper Unknown T, real name Daniel Lena, has been left devastated after police at Gatwick Airport confiscated his £200,000 custom chain – a signature ‘T’ pendant that could be mistaken for a massive, iced out knife.
According to the rapper, officers at Gatwick suggested that his pendant could be used as a potential weapon due to its shape and weight, and so they took it off him.
In a video posted to TikTok, to humiliated and enraged London rapper said:
“I’ve been to LA, New York, back and forth to Toronto, all these places, never had these issue. But see when I touch Gatwick!”
He continues:
“Gatwick Airport are too inna. Touching up my chain! Donny had no respect as well, usually they have courtesy, they can see its shining and don’t want to touch it too much. My man is out here talking about concealed weapon. I’m not out here trying to conceal sh*t. This is just a ‘T’ chain that shows I’m Unknown T.”
Maybe a bit OTT on the part of the police, but let’s not forget that this is a guy who raps about stabbing people to death for a living, so maybe it isn’t too much of a stretch to assume he could do that using the giant, iced out, sharp bespoke T that’s hanging around his neck.
I mean, just at this thing:
Could do some damage for sure.
The question is – does Unknown T get his chain back? As of now, neither Gatwick Airport nor Sussex Police have issued a statement regarding the incident. Either way, it would be pretty funny if they ran some tests on the pendant while it’s in their possession to determine whether it is really worth £200,000. I mean, I know Unknown T had some pretty big success with his track ‘Homerton B’ a few years back (currently sitting at 29M views on YouTube), but is he really making that kind of money? I’m not so sure…
