Twain Gotti Gets Busted By His Own Rap

You don’t have to be a massive gangster rap fan to know it’s unlikely someone will be spitting about the merits of staying in school and loving thy neighbour. Whether it’s slapping bitches in their face and stealing their Gucci bag or making a G off of drug loot, rap doesn’t shy away from the realities of life in the ghetto. With better rappers this isn’t just talk either. Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI rap sheet was released after his death and links him to various crimes including murders and shoot outs with the police. Fair to say he wasn’t exactly a Cub Scout.

Sometimes this brutal realism can go a bit too far. Twain Gotti is an up and coming rapper from Newport News, Virginia, and has probably given a little bit too much away in one of his raps. After recently being arrested for two murders back in 2007, court documents seem to show that his own rap was used as evidence against him. A line from his song, “Hip Full Of Gun”- which describes him killing someone – was put forward in court and is part of the case being made against him.

In all he is being charged with two counts of felony murder, unlawfully discharging a firearm and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony. According to the local press it was one particular line which has landed Gotti in bother:

Everybody saw when I fuckin choked him. But nobody saw when I fukin smoked him, roped him, sharpened up the shank then I poked him … had me crackin up so I joked him, it is betweezy six feet ova, told ya fuckin with my money I’ll roast ya.

They say all publicity is good publicity, but I doubt spending the next few decades in prison is worth having a couple more people visit your YouTube channel. He’s now in jail without bail until his next trial in October. His Twitter (which you can have a look at here) is still active and unsurprisingly he’s pretty adamant he’s innocent.

This isn’t the first time that Gotti has been on the wrong side of the law. He was arrested in 2011 for a non-fatal drive-by he was involved in, which left a 23 year old with several gun shot wounds. He must not have written a rap about that incident seeing as he seems to have gotten away with it to some degree.
