Trump Pays Tribute To ‘Very Brave’ British Troops Following Backlash Over Afghanistan Comments
Trump put his foot in it the other day when he claimed that British troops stayed ‘a little off the front line’ in Afghanistan, basically insinuating that they were cowards.
He’s been under a lot of pressure to apologise in the last couple days, and while Donald Trump would never actually apologise for anything, he did put out a post on Truth Social paying tribute to British soldiers earlier today:

‘In Afghanistan, 457 died, many were badly injured, and they were among the greatest of all warriors.
‘It’s a bond too strong to ever be broken. The UK military, with tremendous heart and soul, is second to none (except for the USA). We love you all, and always will!’
So yeah, not exactly an apology, but what do you expect? The idea of apologising or admitting that he’s wrong just doesn’t compute for the US President. The only thing he’s capable of is suddenly pivoting to saying the opposite of what he said before and acting as if that’s what he believed all along.
He couldn’t even pay tribute with sincerity either, adding: ‘Second to none (except for the USA!)’ in there. Classic Trump.
Trump did p1ss a lot of people off with his initial comments and I doubt this “tribute” is going to change that. I wonder what the current British troops will think when Trump inevitably asks them to help him out in Iran? If they have any pride, they’ll tell him to go f*** himself.
