Although more and more of us are ditching our TVs in favour of watching our best-loved shows online via smartphones, tablets and laptops, we’re still as switched on as ever. Here we take a nostalgic tour through our favourite TV ads of recent years:

Fosters — Brad and Dan / Born 1888

The Brad and Dan series of adverts was a big hit for Fosters, where a series of British drinkers would phone the two laid-back surfing Aussies for help on anything from relationship advice to haircut queries. The campaign was run by ad agency Adam & Eve DDB, who are also responsible for the new, thirst-inducing advert, “Born 1888”. In this ad campaign, the Brad and Dan actors are recast as alcohol brewing siblings William and Ralph Foster, as they relive the moment they gave the Mayor of Melbourne his first taste of the amber nectar. With Fosters launching a new low calorie beer, Radler, who knows what the advertisers will get up to next. You can see the Born 1888 ad below:
