Everyone might have changed their social media profile picture to a black square yesterday to show solidarity with black people all over the world, but I fear that today for many of those people it will be business as usual and there will be little lasting effect on the national psyche.

That’s why it’s important to use this platform to share information like the following Twitter thread which explains why institutional racism exists in the UK. A lot of the narrative I’ve seen bandied around this week is about how the US is completely awful and everything is OK over here and if you believed that I think you’re being very naive.

I mean you can’t really argue with that and he hasn’t even come to some of the main offenders yet. Get educated, spread the word and be better.
