A while back Tesco got rid of the voice that said “unexpected item in the bagging area” after it drove people absolutely spare, and it looks like they might have to do the same with this new festive piece of audio they’ve loaded up.

By December 10th, all self-service checkouts at Tesco stores in the UK will wish customers a Merry Christmas once you’ve paid up.

Tesco self service now has a voice recording of Santa yelling "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!" when you take your items. I don't need this.

Tesco meanwhile are completely oblivious and reckon everyone loves it:
We’ve introduced a new festive-themed message to our in store self-checkouts to help bring some extra festive cheer to our customers and wish them a very Merry Christmas.
Are we all just being a bunch of grinches? Not really feeling the Christmas spirit? I suppose it’s nothing 25 of the worst Christmas jumpers ever can’t fix.
