Just when you think things can’t get any worse in America, a Subway worker has been shot and killed after getting into an argument with a customer over whether there was too much mayonnaise on his sandwich.

The customer is said to have flown off the handle at the branch in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, at around 1830 on Sunday, shooting worker Brittany Macon, 26, dead and leaving another 24-year-old worker in critical condition.

The manager of the store fired back at the suspect, resulting in a shootout in the Subway carpark. Store owner Willie Glenn said told the NY Post:

‘Believe it or not, it was about too much mayonnaise on his sandwich. He decided to escalate the situation and from there, that’s when all hell broke loose.

One of the young ladies who was [injured] today, her son was in the store. She had a young son that had to witness all of this.

I don’t know what the world is coming to especially with our youth. They seem to be so hot headed.

Everybody wants to carry a gun. Everybody wants to scare somebody with a gun. It’s scary out here.’

What an absolute joke of a country. Even with a mass shooting every other week, school shootings on the rise, and incidents like this where people are being killed over excessive mayonnaise, flag-shagging Americans still think it’s a good idea to have more guns on the streets. Couldn’t this lunatic have used his gun to just wipe the extra mayo off his sandwich, instead of shooting someone to death with it?

Atlanta police officers said that this was a case of someone with a gun who didn’t know how to resolve conflict without resorting to violence. Which is probably the sort of person you don’t want carrying a gun in the first place.

A 36-year-old suspect has been arrested, but unfortunately you just know nothing will change in America as far as gun laws and regulations go. They’d rather arm Subway workers than come up with common sense gun laws that might prevent this sort of thing from happening on a daily basis. What else you can say really? RIP Brittany Macon and ‘get well soon’ to her colleague. ‘Murica!
