If you go on a date and you’re not getting any messages back from the other party following it, then it’s pretty easy to take a hint and move onto the next one. You’re not gonna be the first person to get rejected and you’re not gonna be the last.

Unfortunately, this isn’t true of everyone it seems as Jacqueline Ades from Phoenix, Arizona, was so enamoured with her date that she texted him 159,000 times after their one and only date without reply and has ended up being arrested for stalking him because of it. That’s sometimes 500 text message a day.
Whilst this kind of behaviour is probably enough to be accused of harassment, Ades’ actual crimes were far more serious as she was discovered taking a bath in the man’s tub, frequently spotted lurking in her car around his house and also carrying a large butcher’s knife with her during these excursions. She’s now in being held in the local police station before she faces trial on February 5th.
Ades had this to say about the whole situation:
I guess that I made up a whole scenario in my head where I live here, so I came here and pretended that’s what was happening.
Something came over me when I sent violent threats to the man. I never meant to hurt or scare him.
It’s OK if that’s how he feels. Somebody else should love him. He has so much to love.
He’s so cute. I can’t believe I scared him.
I felt like I met my soul mate and I thought we would just do what everybody else did and we would get married and everything would be fine.
Wow. She sounds like a complete and utter nut job doesn’t she? Not gonna lie, I think I would probably be absolutely terrified if she was sending me weird messages like that and hanging around outside my house.
The police have said that she’s showing signs of mental illness – no shit – so hopefully she’ll be found guilty at this hearing and placed in a psychiatric ward where she can get the help that she needs. Maybe then this dude can get some sleep and stop being so freaked out all the time. Best of luck.
