Last night, Snoop Dogg sent shockwaves through the planet when he announced that he had quit smoking weed, doing so with a hilarious graphic that you’d think was more suited to announcing the death of a loved one or something:

There have been loads of rumours swirling about this ever since, with some people theorising that this is a PR move where he comes out with a line of edibles or THC gummies (notice he says he’s quit “smoking” specifically), or that maybe the lifelong chronic weed smoker has developed a health issue that means he’s got no choice but to hang up his blunt papers at 52 years old.

This morning, Snoop has spoken out for the first time since revealing that he has quit, but neglected to provide any clarity around the decision with his caption. Quite the opposite, in fact:

Yup, he basically just repeated ‘Respect my privacy’. Which is definitely not what people are doing because the idea of living in a world where Snoop Dogg is not getting baked is just unfathomable to most. All we can really hope is that it’s not a medical issue, and just a decision he’s come to on his own for whatever reason. I’m sure Snoop will let us know the details when he’s good and ready!

Never forget:

Bad news for Snoop’s full-time blunt roller, in any case.
