I don’t think there’s ever been a point in my life where I thought Snoop Dogg and Paul Gascoigne would be linked in a news story, but then again I never thought Donald Trump would be President of the United States – and yet here we are.

Anyway, back to the story. So it turns out the rapper is currently under fire for taking shots at the former footballer online.
Snoop took to social media to upload before and after photos of himself and Gascoigne to show how “marijuana abuse” is safer than alcohol addiction. However, the post has divided followers, with some praising Snoop for getting real about the dangers of boozing and others slamming him for showing a lack of respect for the 52-year-old, who it is well documented has struggled with alcohol abuse and mental health issues over the years.
Here are just some of the comments the post has garnered so far of people showing support for Gazza:
This has much more to do with mental health than abuse. It’s actually quite sad you’re using him as a scapegoat.
If you don’t know who that person is, that’s Paul Gascoigne. He had a lot more problems than just alcohol.
I wonder how many of you know who the top picture is Gazza was one of the best football players my country has ever seen. It’s sad to see what alcohol has done to him.
Cmon man. That’s gazza. That’s cocaine abuse too – why you do a legend like that smh.
Lost all respect for Snoop.
Snoop Dogg is cancelled for going after Gazza.
Both of these guys are legends in their field – perhaps Snoop just didn’t quite realise the extent of Gazza’s background, not just with alcoholism, but mental health and substance abuse issues too.
Not to mention, he picked a photo of the guy when he was in a really bad place. As you’ll see by the picture right at the top, when Gazza’s on the straight and narrow he scrubs up pretty good.
