Clinton Cards really messed up and offended everyone over the weekend when they started selling what they described as a ‘council estate Christmas card’, which basically stated Santa Claus probably lived in a council estate and listed 10 reasons why that was true. All of them pretty much just completely rinse people who live on council estates and imply the stereotypical view of these people as poor, lazy, good for nothing pieces of shit. Check out the ten reasons below:

Wow, that’s some pretty close to the bone remarks there. Unsurprisingly, most of the population was deeply offended by the card once it started doing the rounds on social media and Clinton’s were forced to pull it from their online store, where it had been on sale for £2.00 alongside the tagline ‘This funny card is great for sending at Christmas time.’ I bet whoever wrote that is getting fired right about now.

Clinton Cards also issued the following response to the incident, which makes them sound like they don’t really have an actual clue what’s going on in their company:

We are investigating how this offensive card got through our quality control procedures, which we will review and tighten as a result of this incident. This was a mistake and we deeply regret the upset that this has clearly caused. It is in no way reflective of our views and we apologise without reservation.

Still this card is nowhere near as embarrassing or awkward as the Tony Blair Christmas card that got released last week.
