There’s no denying that Robert England’s portrayal of Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare On Elm Street movies is one of the most iconic in the history of horror movies, but it’s been a while since he’s pulled on the red and black jumper and put on that weird gloves with the knives on it.

News has been confirmed though that Englund will be returning as the terroriser of your dreams in the upcoming Halloween episode of The Goldbergs. Whilst this isn’t exactly the return that I was hoping for – I wanted another Nightmare On Elm Street movie goddammit – beggars can’t be choosers and I suppose this is better than nothing right now.

Here’s the official announcement:

He looks good doesn’t he? I’ve never actually watched The Goldbergs, although I’ve heard that it’s a good show from some people. I probably won’t really understand it when I tune in for the Halloween episode but hey as long as I get to see those annoying looking kids get chased around by Freddy Krueger for a few minutes I’ll probably be happy. Just gotta wait for Halloween now.
