For many of us growing up, the Crash Bandicoot series was one of the best platform games around. It may not have had a great plot, but in terms of gameplay and addictiveness you couldn’t really go wrong with it could you?

That’s why it was a surprise that the franchise took a break from 2011 – 2017, but judging by the success of the first three titles were re-released with updated graphics last year under the moniker of ‘Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy’, it seems as though developer Activision are looking to bring him back in a whole new adventure.  Not only was the game the bestselling Playstation 4 exclusive game last year, a leaked online marketing document titled Licensing Source Book Guide by DHX Brands also reveals the following strategy from the company in the next few years that confirms this:

Looking ahead to 2018 Max picks out Crash Bandicoot as one to watch. The new game was a huge success at retail with no marketing spend. Next year it will be going broader (Switch and PC) and there will be another game in 2019.

Activision have a five-year plan for this and GB eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products.

Another game in 2019 sounds promising for that new instalment in the franchise that has been teased for so long eh? Let’s hope it’s a full 3D reimagining/reboot that can get the series back on its feet.

Sounds like more games are coming too on all platforms as well which can only be a good thing. Just a shame that we’ve gotta wait so long to see any results though.
