Indian police are reviewing reports of missing children to try to identify a real life Mowgli girl who was found living in a forest with a group of monkeys.

The girl, believed to be 10–12 years old, was unable to speak, dangerously thin and wearing no clothes when she was discovered.

She “behaved like an animal”, running on her arms and legs and eating food off the floor with her mouth, according to D.K. Singh, chief medical superintendent of Bahraich hospital, where the girl was taken.

Following treatment, she has begun walking normally and is learning to eat with her hands. I imagine they had to teach her not to use her hands to throw shit at people which is what monkeys love to do.

No doubt this girl’s story will be told in a documentary sometime in the future, and what a documentary it will be! As far as anyone knows this girl has been living the Jungle Book life for 10-12 years. How cool is it that the monkeys didn’t brutally murder her and then devour her remains? Monkeys love kids:

Still, probably best this little girl is raised by humans from now on. Hopefully they find her real parents or sort her out some sweet adoptive parents. Sky’s the limit for young Mowgli.

Now hit it:
