It pretty much goes without saying that if you’re going to behead someone you know then you’ve probably got some fairly dark thoughts floating around in your head, but it’s even scarier when these people actually try and communicate that to you.

This is what happened during the trail of 18 year old Matthew Borges, who has just been sentenced to life in prison for beheading his classmate Lee Manuel Viloria-Paulino when they were both 16 back in 2016. Borges had become angry that his ex girlfriend Leilany Dejesus  had been talking to Viloria-Paulino and he dealt with this by stabbing him 76 times and then cutting off his head and his hands. Mature.

There was no actual physical evidence linking Borges to the crime, but the prosecution argued that his journal entries made it pretty obvious that he was guilty. Here’s a selection:

Go chill with him in his crib alone… bring duffel bag, wear bags on shoes, wear clothes you don’t care about.

I think of killing someone and I smirk.

It’s all I think about every day but I control myself… I like the sound of it – the idea of causing pain in someone getting in my way or causing me pain.

I see people I don’t like [and] that comes to mind. I’m going insane.
That’s really messed up and quite chilling isn’t it? Thankfully Borges will be locked up for the rest of his life so there’s no chance of him committing crimes like these again in the future. RIP Lee Manuel Viloria-Paulino.
