Greta Thunberg has been unusually quiet during the global pandemic, but she’s returned to prominence yet again after CNN announced that she would be on a panel of Coronavirus experts on a live CNN Town Hall that will air on the American news network tonight.

The panel will be chaired by Anderson Cooper and completed by CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, former Centres for Disease Control and Prevention Director Richard Besser and former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. You can kinda see why Greta Thunberg is the odd one out there and obviously a bunch of people took to Twitter to voice their anger at this, led by Donald Trump JR himself:
Greta Thunberg having a remarkable career already in that as a teenager she’s now a world renowned infectious disease specialist and epidemiologist AND a leading scientific voice when it comes to global climate policy.
Just wow so impressive. https://t.co/398T4wXDry

“@CNN adds Greta Thunberg to their expert coronavirus panel” 😂😂😂
I feel like being old enough to drink a corona should be a requirement to be considered an expert on coronavirushttps://t.co/TkQAueOJdR

“Greta Thunberg added to CNN’s EXPERT coronavirus panel”
Surely this is fake news.
If not, it will produce fake news.
Starting to see the problem now?https://t.co/j0ZQq7DIgD

Sorry, CNN. I just don’t get it. Your ratings continue to slide, and your response is to put Greta Thunberg on an expert Coronavirus panel? Your playing a joke on us, right? Did you lose a bet? @CNN

Is there anyone at CNN with any level of self-awareness? Featuring Greta Thunberg on a covid-19 expert panel is just beyond words. I actually cannot believe they are this insane/stupid.

I mean you can kinda see why they’re annoyed because it doesn’t make any sense, but I think it’s a case of people just jumping on it and promoting it incorrectly themselves. She was advertised as a special guest alongside an expert panel, not an expert herself and people just jumped on it and went wild. The show Greta is appearing on is called ‘Coronavirus: Facts and Fears’ and a whole bunch of people have appeared on it like Al Gore and Spike Lee and it seems that you don’t have to be an expert to contribute, just someone who can act as a mouthpiece for the common person or whatever.
So basically everyone just jumped on it because they wanted to rag on Greta Thunberg. What’s new?
This was cleared up by Greta herself on Twitter:
I am not an expert. I am an activist. The only people claiming that I’m an “expert” are those who are trying to ridicule me. My message has always been to unite behind the science and listen to the experts. 2/2

See? Everyone should calm the fuck down and see what happens. So easy to get triggered these days – even easier than it was before.
