A spokesperson for the South African holyman Paseka Motsoeneng got absolutely rinsed online recently after he claimed he went up to heaven on Easter Sunday and managed to sneak in a couple of selfies on his Galaxy smartphone.

This is the same guy who has made previous claims including healing people during sermons and delivering a fish from the womb of a pregnant woman. So yeah, guessing he isn’t the most honest of pastors.
What makes this even more ludicrous is the fact that he would only allow people to see the pictures for a donation of 5,000 rand (around £240). A spokesperson for the church told the Katlehong Weekly:
The pictures will be made available to the public on his Facebook page later next week and can now only be accessed through a R5 000 pledge.
Those who need the pictures can contact the church and make the pledge using Money Market then we will send them the pictures on WhatsApp.
What an absolute charlatan. And to add insult to injury, apparently he claimed that Jesus has a beautiful wife, who is, “young, hot and extremely attractive”. Due to the obvious backlash, many of his followers took to the internet to say that he was joking, although that obviously didn’t stop the Twittersphere absolutely laying into his ridiculous statements:

Seriously though, what is it with high up religious figures and trying to scam people out of their money? Oh yeah — the fact that there are a lot of vulnerable people who will believe pretty much anything you tell them at the mercy of their power. Like this priest who asked his congregation to help him pay for a $65 million private jet because it’s “what god would have wanted”.
