We’ve covered this story before and I realise that I may be rehashing the details for a few people, but it really has taken on a whole new dimension of hilarity now that we’ve learned that the parents are being forced to pay over $30,000 to cover the cost of their son’s porn collection.

The story began some time ago when 43 year old David Werking moved back in with his parents at their place in Grand Haven, Michigan for 10 months following his divorce. He then later moved to Muncie, Indiana, only to realise that his gigantic pornography collection was missing.

Upon further investigation he realised that his parents had destroyed it all, with his dad even telling him that he did him a favour by getting rid of it all. Most people would probably call a spade a spade at this point after clearly having one of the most awkward conversations of all time with their parents, but David was so incensed by the decision that he actually sued his parents for the destruction of his property, with Judge Paul Maloney ruling in his favour last December.

Somewhat funnily, it seems like it’s taken eight months for Maloney to determine that the porn collection was worth $30, 441 after it was valued by ‘an expert’. Would love to know what qualifications this expert has for measuring the value of pornography and dirty sex equipment and also just what the heck was in Werking’s collection for it to be valued so highly? Where the hell did he even store it when he was at his parents without them getting suspicious if it was so much stuff? Maybe ‘Your Mom Tossed My Salad’ is super rare or something?

Anyway, there’s a lot of unanswered questions here aren’t they? I feel like you could get an episode of an anthology TV show out of it fairly easily, maybe even a full length documentary/movie. Watch this space.
