It appears that berating Lil’ Kim wasn’t the most senseless move from Minaj. In a shocking endorsement of presidential candidate Mitt Romney, she declared: “I’m a Republican… you lazy bitches are fvcking up the economy.” Apparently she is making another personal attack, although this time not on another Hip Hop artist but instead on President Barack Obama and his ‘inability’ to cope with the current economic crisis.
The rather unintelligible statement came from the fifth track of Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Dedication 4’ album, released a few days ago. It seems strange that she’d back a devout Mormon, who condemns alcohol and coffee and omits words stronger than ‘heck or damn’ from his vocabulary. I’m sure that Nicki’s feelings for Romney wouldn’t be reciprocated.
You don’t need a degree in politics to understand that the economy is failing due to a lack of regulation. Not a group of “lazy bitches”. She’s gone and proved any preconceptions you may have had about the ‘rap’ star. After acting out and throwing an almighty tantrum at British music festival T in the Park – allegedly over uncut grass – she’s obviously prone to frequent bouts of idiocy. After all, who complains about the grass at a music festival? Obviously not some ‘bad Queens’ hoe.
However, there are claims that Minaj’s views have been taken wholly out of context. She’s been known to sample Kanye West, who appeared at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, supporting Obama. She’s even spoken out on Obama’s healthcare plans, saying he hasn’t gone far enough, when Romney’s made it his target to ensure that free healthcare is only available to those who can pay for it. Those with any sense can see that this defeats the object of free healthcare. You could also take her jibe as sarcastic, as it does replicate the typical Republican doctrine. We should hope so; otherwise she’s only conforming to their stupidity and lack of rational arguments.
