As far as quality television goes, Netflix is usually the go to destination these days and it looks like they’re onto another winner with this latest announcement.

The network is going to be premiering a new series about the life of El Chapo – the most powerful drug dealer in the world – later this year in April and if Narcos is anything to go by then it’s going to be immensely entertaining and popular. Here’s what Camila Jiménez Villa, President and Chief Content Officer of Fusion Media Group has to say about it:
This series pulls back the curtain on one of the most captivating criminals of our time by combining the world-class reporting and insights from Univision News’ investigative team with an outstanding team of talented storytellers and producers.
We are thrilled to be partnering with Netflix to share this boundary-breaking new series with a global audience.
So I guess that means it’s going to be a sort of cross between Making A Murderer and Narcos? Not really sure whether it’s a documentary or a series, but whatever happens I’m fairly certain that it’s going to be good based on the subject matter alone. How the hell is a series about El Chapo going to be bad/boring? Seriously.
If you don’t know about El Chapo, I don’t know why you’ve read this far but check out this short documentary on his life. Spoilers, obviously.
