The 2008 classic Step Brothers may be in need of a sequel after a mum in Italy took her two sons to court because they refused to move out of her house.

The 75-year-old mother argued that her sons, 40 and 42, were “parasites” that were squatting in her home. Despite both sons being employed, they wouldn’t financially support their mum, who is separated from her husband and lives off her pension. According to local newspaper La Provincia Pavese, the mum was also annoyed that her sons did not contribute to the household expenses or chores. What a pair of losers!

Judge Simona Caterbi sided with the mum and ruled that Mario & Luigi did not have the right to stay at the house, seeing as they’re both over 40 years old: “There is no provision in the legislation which attributes to the adult child the unconditional right to remain in the home exclusively owned by the parents, against their will and by virtue of the family bond alone.”

Amazingly, the sons are now counter-suing and arguing that Italian parents are obligated to “maintain or support” their children as long as necessary. Absolute wastemen!

So not only were these two bumming around the house against their mum’s wishes but it sounds like they also expected their mum to cook, clean and do the laundry. You would think that as an adult living rent free at home, you would at least offer to run some errands and do some chores. 75 years old and still having to take care of two big babies! For shame.
