Unintentionally hilarious and ironic moment on Sky News earlier as it was revealed that the channel paid a male pundit to take part in an on-air debate on misogyny and gender equality, but failed to do the same with the female journalist he was arguing with.

Here’s the moment it dawned on Moya Lothian-McLean, a contributing editor at Novara Media, while mid-convo with GB News contributor Connor Tomlinson:

Welp, point proven? Maya later took to Twitter X to confirm that Tomlinson was paid and that she wasn’t, but that she had now asked Sky News for retroactive pay (you can do that?) which she will be donating to charity:

The only thing I’ll say in Sky’s defence here is that they probably work with these people’s agents and so I’m guessing Tomlinson’s agent ensured he got paid whereas Lothian-McLean’s didnt. Or maybe she doesn’t have an agent at all? Maybe she should look into getting one. Either way, not a great look for Sky News to reinforce this dynamic in a conversation about misogyny. Legacy media in the mud!

For the time the Taliban laughed in a reporter’s face when she asked them if Afghans can vote for female politicians, click HERE.
