Music producer Marcus Adepoju, who calls himself ‘Menace to Society’, is facing a lengthy spell in jail after attempting to shoot a man over a £3.50 debt.

Marcus Adepoju, 31, fired repeatedly through the man’s window in Catford, south-east London. Fortunately, he missed his target, but was subsequently arrested and convicted of multiple firearms and drug offences following a trial at Woolwich Crown Court.

Having failed to retrieve the £3.50 owed to him, Adepoju put on a balaclava and went to the target’s home in Nelgarde Road, Catford. He fired three shots through a window, which all missed the target but caused superficial wounds from glass shards, as well as extensive damage to the property.

After that, it was a case of police checking out CCTV in the area, and eventually finding their man.

DC John Nightingale, a Trident detective from Specialist Crime, said: “Marcus Adepoju is an extremely dangerous individual who had no qualms about shooting a man through a window on a busy residential street. It is only through sheer good fortune that the victim was not more seriously injured or killed. Adepoju produced music under the stage name ‘Menace To Society’ – sadly his actions reinforced this moniker and he will now pay the price for his crimes.”

And to think, all of that over £3.50. Three pounds fifty! Could have just sat on the floor outside Tesco’s if he was that desperate. Good thing he wasn’t owed a fiver otherwise he might’ve brought a rocket launcher with him.

Now not only Marcus Adepoju £3.50 short, he’s also going to spend the next few years of his life (well, presumably) in jail when he’s sentenced on April 12. Unlucky lad.
